October 27-28/2008: Columbia River Gorge
I spent a couple of days hiking and photographing through the Columbia River Gorge. This is one of the areas that I frequent because of all the waterfalls within a short distance of one another. This area is so lush and green with plant life which keeps drawing me back as much as the waterfalls do. If you have looked through my galleries, you might have noticed that I have many photographs of waterfalls. They have always been my favorite subject to photograph and hike to. One of the trails that I hiked on, was the Eagle Creek Trail. This trail of waterfalls is absolutely breathtaking. There are at least a dozen waterfalls along this moderately sloping trail. The crown jewel of this hike is Tunnel Falls that plunges 100 ft. As you hike along the trail, a tunnel appears as the waterfall plunges from overhead. It is a 6 mile hike and a 1400 ft. elevation gain. This hike overlooks Eagle Creek with spectacular views along the trail. Word of caution on this hike, there are some areas in which you are exposed along side the cliff. Here are a few shots from the Columbia River Gorge area.

October 5, 2008: Mount Jefferson Wilderness
October 5th. I was in the Mount Jefferson Wilderness at Pamelia Lake and Hunts Lake. This area within Mount Jefferson Wilderness is absolutely beautiful. However, on this day, the weather was overcast and raining but I managed to come away with a few shots that I am happy with. I plan on going back here again very soon when the weather cooperates and I can get some shots that I had intended, but in the mean time, here are a couple of shots from this day.

February 4, 2008: Conservation Framing
As of February 4, 2008, I will be offering conservation framed prints. I am very excited to be able to offer conservation framed prints at a fraction of the cost of what other professional photographers are able to sell for.

Framed prints are made with some of the highest quality materials available (mats, glass, molding and mounting board). I use conservation framing which will protect and preserve the print. I use only acid free materials when mounting the print. I use Rag Mat Museum Solids, usually white or off white(top mat) and black (bottom). They are a solid color throughout, acid and lignon free to protect the print and will not damage the print over time.(If you would like different mat colors, please let me know and I will accomodate your requests the best I can.) I use Conservation Reflection Control Glass (CRC Glass) as a standard glass when framing. This glass has a 98% U V protection and reflection control to eliminate or minimize glare. This glass is one of the best around.

For those who dont mind spending a little extra to get the very best, I am offering museum glass. This glass is top of the line when it comes to protecting the print from damaging U V light. Although it is a very expensive type of glass, I believe it is well worth the extra money to help protect and preserve the print. Because this is a very expensive glass, I will only charge for what the glass would cost me.

These are some sample shots of the conservation framed prints. These shots really do them no justice as to how dramatic and beautiful they are. You really have to view them in person to get a feel of how majestic they really are. I do offer a money back guarantee on them if you are not satisfied with them, but I almost guarantee that you will be very pleased with them.
